Many people know Dave Marston as the conductor of the Siskiyou Singers (an audition only 100+ choir), a post he has held since 1988. In that same year, he completed his eleventh and final season as a musician at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. From 1984-88, Dave was also the director of the Green Show music at the Festival. And he is currently the Music Director at the Ashland Methodist Church. Other people know Marston for his performances of Beatles music. He devised a one-man show about former Beatle John Lennon, called “The Essence of Lennon”, which he’s performed since 1983. He also regularly performs with his Beatles tribute band “The Nowhere Men”, and he once sang all 207 Beatle songs from memory at a marathon concert in 1997. He has composed an original opera, “The Waters of Love,” performed by The Rogue Opera for Opera in the Schools presentation in October of 2002, reaching over 13,000 students. From his Ashland home, Dave composes, conducts and plays music 8-days a week, along with teaching private lessons in voice, piano and guitar, and runs a summer workshop on sight-singing. He also performs regularly with his wife Tami, and his daughters Sarah (14), and Rose (12). |
