Process of Performance Decision-making
1. When a performance opportunity comes to a choir member, the member brings the proposal to someone on the Performance Committee (email and/or phone).
2. The committee evaluates the proposal using the outlined Criteria.
3. If the proposal is a good and valid option, the Performance Committee asks the Director for his/her interest and/or availability.
4. If the Director is available, the PC makes a recommendation to the choir.
5. The membership votes on event participation and indicates level of commitment.
6. If 2/3 of membership commits to perform, we plan our participation in the event. (Should the Director not be available for a performance that is considered a high priority for the choir, a choir member may be selected by the Music Director to lead the choir during that performance.)
Attire
During performances, all members can wear any article of clothing that is “white” or shades of white (beige, light tan, cream etc.), with brown or black shoes.
Smaller Group Process
If the Performance Committee does not recommend singing at a performance or 2/3 of the choir does not commit to a performance opportunity, the event then falls into the rubric of Smaller Group Event. In this case, the members who wish to participate may choose a group leader and organize the event on their own. Smaller Group participants shall wear something other than the white RVPC ‘uniform’ and bill themselves as something other than the RVPC. |
